For a unique holiday visit one of our former Lighthouse Keepers’ Cottages at the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point in the beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway. Kittiwake House has a stunning sea view and sits alongside the 19th century Stevenson Lighthouse, next door to Puffin House on the headland at Scotland’s most Southerly Point.

Kittiwake House used to be home to the Principal Lighthouse Keeper (PLK) and his family. The Lighthouse, Puffin House and Kittiwake House were built in 1827 by Robert Stevenson. The Lighthouse became operational on 26th March 1830. The Lighthouse was demanned in 1988 and the Lighthouse is now remotely monitored by Northern Lighthouse Board in Edinburgh. There are opportunities to climb to the top of the Lighthouse at certain times of the year and our guests may be able to climb the tower as part of their Lighthouse Holiday Experience. Climb the Lighthouse for panoramic views of Scotland, Cumbria, Isle of Man and Ireland.

Kittiwake House is available as self-catering holiday accommodation all year round and is fully equipped, light and spacious with all the charm you would expect of a former Lighthouse Keepers’ Cottage. You will find a welcome basket on arrival to help you get your holiday off to a great start and all bed linen and towels are provided for each guest.
